The entry deadline for the ninth annual Chuck Byron FISH ON! Youth Marine Art Contest is Aug. 31 -- and young artists from kindergarten to 12th grade are welcome to enter marine-related works, with no entry fee required.            

There are four age divisions in three categories -- drawing or painting, photography and three-dimensional art -- making for 12 possible first-place winners.

Finalists will be awarded on Sept. 23rd at the FISH ON! awards luncheon in San Diego. Prizes awarded to the winning artists will include art and photo supplies, fishing tackle, and a half-day fishing trip as a group this fall.            

Proceeds from the 2012 FISH ON! awards banquet will benefit the kids. The event is sponsored by Chuck Byron Youth Art Inc., a public charities corporation.
