Mike Meehan Joins Silver Seas Yachts in Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH — Silver Seas Yachts has announced that Mike Meehan has joined the firm and will work out of the company’s Newport Beach yacht sales office.
Meehan got his start in the marine industry cleaning boats back in 1972, and he went on to operate his own yacht maintenance business before going into yacht sales. In 1978, he became a licensed sales agent for Robert V. Staats, the Newport Beach Uniflite dealer.
In 1980, Meehan joined Newport Yacht Exchange and managed the company’s service operations, delivering more than 100 new Carver boats a year for several years. He went on to work for Dick Simon Marine, where he was responsible for brokerage and new yacht sales.
In 1996, Meehan opened Outerlimits Marine, a yacht brokerage operation, and eventually became the California dealer for Donzi and Pro-Line powerboats.
Meehan spent five years in Texas, taking care of family matters. Meehan said his absence from the yacht sales business motivated him to seek a top-quality operation with the tremendous resources that Silver Seas Yachts has to offer, in order to give his clients the best possible service.
Meehan added that he is “thrilled to reconnect with yachting friends and customers,” and said he is excited to start the 2013 yachting season off at the San Diego and L.A. boat shows.
