Lido Boat Show to open Sept. 18

NEWPORT BEACH – The 36th annual Lido Boat Show – the biggest fall boat show in the West — opens Thursday, Sept. 18 at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach and runs through Sept. 21.

Show-goers will see more than 200 powerboats and sailboats and will have the chance to board and compare both new and ocean-tested brokerage boats.

The show will feature a selection of new models making their debuts, along with an impressive array of boating gear and accessories, marine electronics, engines, generators and yacht services.

Along with the West’s biggest array of large yachts — including some standout models more than 100 feet in length — the Lido Boat Show will present a wide selection of 35-to 65-footers. Attendees can inspect and compare motoryachts, sportfishers, family cruisers, sailboats, long-range trawlers and sport yachts from top U.S. and international builders, represented by the West Coast’s top boat dealers and yacht brokers.

Guests can view the Hinckley Company’s all new Talaria 43, which will make her debut at the 2014 Lido Boat Show. With a retractable aft enclosure, the vessel is bound to make a splash with West Coast boaters. The glass enclosure provides security at the dock or from the elements, and disappears electronically when you want a sporty, open air feel. The Talaria 43 features stunning signature lines and finishing details that have long distinguished Hinckley’s from other boat models. The boat’s layout is perfect for entertaining and features a cockpit that offers settee seating for eight and a hospitality center to starboard. The single-level cockpit and salon creates an easy flow between the two spaces and with the galley just one step down opposite the helm, it’s an easy reach to the refreshments. Below deck, there is a master cabin, double guest cabin and a head with shower.

Also making its debut at the 2014 show is Beneteau’s  45 foot Monte Carlo 4 of the Monte Carlo line. The line revolutionizes the luxury Motor Cruiser Flybridge segment by applying the unique strengths of the Monte Carlo Yacht brand by combining attention to detail with performance and seaworthiness. The Monte Carlo 4 (MC4) demonstrates the success of the alliance between French and Italian yacht builders. The MC4 provides uncompromised comfort with features such as a huge flybridge, a large salon accommodating six people, a double-wide seat at the helm and a generous sunpad, while oversized windows offer 360 degree views of the water. Below deck, the MC4 holds two cabins with en-suite heads, panoramic windows, round port holds and an overhead skylight.

Sailboat enthusiasts can meet with sailboat manufactures at the all new “sailboat row” dock dedicated to new and used sailboats.

The Lido Boat Show is produced by the Duncan McIntosh Co. Inc., publisher of Sea Magazine, Boating World, The Log Newspaper, FishRap and Editor & Publisher, and producer of the annual spring Newport Boat Show.
