Border Run2 to Start Off Long Beach June 29
Border Run2 will start sailors from Long Beach and send them on four different courses, depending on the sailors’ preference. Sailors can race to Newport Beach, Dana Point, San Diego or San Diego via Los Coronados islands.
See You in Ensenada: Race Starts April 27
Viewing the start of the Newport-to-Ensenada Race from the Balboa Pier is always a great thrill. The starting sequence for the race will have cruising classes starting first, at 11 a.m., followed by all other classes.

Entries are now open for the West Coast’s largest keelboat regatta.
Nicole Breault Wins California Dreamin’ Series
In sailboat racing, good breeze is a good thing -- but too much is not so good. Such was the case March 18 in the California Dreamin’ Series Butler Cup, an ISAF Grade 3 match race hosted by Long Beach Yacht Club. With a severe storm watch in effect and high winds, no races were able to be run.

Border Run Has Big Start -- More Than 200 Boats
Both spectators and racing sailors were awed by the on-the-water spectacle at the Border Run start line, as more than 200 boats sailed toward one single start off Balboa Pier, March 10.
LB Prepares for ‘March Madness’ of Match Racing
The world’s No. 1 match racer, Ian Williams of the United Kingdom, will return to defend his crown in Long Beach Yacht Club’s 48th Congressional Cup March 27-31 -- and San Diego’s Bill Hardesty, Rolex Yachtsman of the Year, will be at Williams’ shoulder again, calling tactics.

Lexus has been named title sponsor of the 65th annual Newport-to-Ensenada International Yacht Race, with starts beginning at 11 a.m. April 27 off the Balboa Pier.
Midwinters Launch F-18 Winners into Worlds
Attention, Formula 18 catamaran racers coming to Long Beach for class world championships in September: Matt Struble and Damon LaCasella own these waters. Or at least they did Feb. 18-19, during the 83rd Southern California Yachting Association Midwinter Regatta competition hosted by Alamitos Bay Yacht Club -- one of 27 clubs hosting races in a total of 74 classes.

Navy, Point Loma Claim Rose Bowl Regatta Victories
A total of 29 college teams from 11 states and Washington, D.C., and 59 high school teams from the West Coast competed in the Rose Bowl Regatta. The collegians and high schoolers raced CFJ dinghies with two-person coed crews -- male, female and mixed -- on courses off the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier in the Long Beach outer harbor.
Get Ready for Midwinters -- Feb. 18-19
More than 500 boats are expected to compete at venues throughout Southern California and Arizona during the Southern California Yachting Association’s 83rd Midwinter Regatta, Feb. 18-19. The event is North America’s largest regatta.
