Dana West Yacht Club to host Charity Regatta

DANA POINT — Dana West Yacht Club has announced it will once again host the annual Charity Regatta, June 6- 8.

The three-day regatta held off the coast of Dana Point Harbor, will be open to both PHRF and Cruiser classes. Friday June 6, will consist of Newport to Dana Point, PHRF and Cruising class. Saturday June 7, two buoy races for the PHRF class entries and one Random Leg Race (RLC) for cruisers, as well as a juniors in harbor Sabot Regatta. Sunday will conclude with all boats racing a RLC. A live and silent auction will be held on Saturday evening.

An annual tradition for 17 years, all proceeds from this regatta will be donated to the nonprofit organizations, Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group  and Art & Creativity for Healing .

“Dana West Yacht Club has a long-standing tradition of supporting our military, especially those from Camp Pendleton, through our Holiday Armed Forces Dinners and golf tournaments,” said Steve White, commodore for Dana West YC. “We are extremely excited to extend our support this year to the Dana Point 5th Regiment Support Group and Art& Creativity for Healing.

We look forward to fun, competitive races, a great auction, and donating all the proceeds to these worthy organizations,” he added.
