NMMA Announces Promotions

Byline: The Log Staff

CHICAGO — The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) announced the promotions of Craig Boskey and Carl Blackwell to senior vice president, and John McKnight, Dave Geoffroy and Ellen Hopkins to vice president.

“NMMA has a talented group of staff dedicated to the interests and success of our members,” said Thom Dammrich, NMMA president. “The promotion of these five executives is well-deserved and a reflection of their success in their respective positions and commitment to the recreational boating industry.”

Geoffroy, previously president of the recently integrated Southern California Marine Association (SCMA), has been promoted to vice president of NMMA West.

NMMA West — which was formed out of the recent merger of SCMA and NMMA, and will now include members of the Northern California Marine Association — manages NMMA’s West Coast operations. The group oversees the San Diego Yacht and Boat Show, Strictly Sail Long Beach and the Los Angeles Boat Show. Geoffroy is also responsible for growing membership and building relationships with related organizations in the Western U.S. Geoffroy will report to Ben Wold, NMMA executive vice president.

In other promotions, Boskey was named senior vice president, finance, and chief financial officer. Boskey will oversee NMMA’s financial affairs, including human resources, corporate accounting and information technology.

Blackwell has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing and communications, and chief marketing officer. Blackwell leads NMMA’s marketing department, which encompasses work across all association programs, including 21 boat and sports shows, as well as the industrywide Discover Boating campaign.

McKnight has been promoted to vice president, government affairs, and leads NMMA’s efforts on environmental and safety issues.

Hopkins was promoted to vice president, communications, heading up the association’s public relations and communications efforts.
