15 Suspected Illegal Immigrants Held in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (AP) — At least 15 suspected illegal immigrants have been detained after their small boat washed ashore in San Diego.
Immigration authorities said the panga they were aboard was spotted at around 1:30 a.m. April 16 at Ocean Beach.
After measures were taken in recent years to tighten security along California’s U.S./Mexico border, panga boats have become an increasingly common way for smugglers to bring drugs and people from Mexico into Southern California.
