1983: A dream comes true for the Holland Family

The late Dennis Holland, a master shipwright, launched Pilgrim of Newport at Lido Shipyard in December 1983.
Holland spent 13 ½ years reconstructing the 100-foot brigantine in his backyard. He and his family rented out their house and moved aboard to help finance the rebuild. All three Holland children were born while Holland and wife, Betty, lived aboard the boat. Betty Holland christened the boat.
