Angling for another fun-filled Day at the Docks

SAN DIEGO — Few will deny San Diego is one of the best sportsfishing locations in the United States, not to mention its beautiful and sunny coastline. The Port of San Diego, in celebrating the regions ideal conditions, invites anglers from all parts of the world to join in the West Coast’s largest fishing event – Day at the Docks!

This year, Day at the Docks, hosted by Port of San Diego, will take place on April 15, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., in Point Loma. Festivities take place at the sportfishing landings near Shelter Island.

Multiple events catering to the entire family will be held including fishing seminars, free fishing for kids, tackle displays, Catch & Cook Seafood Series, music and entertainment and a plethora of exhibitors including tackle manufacturers and retailers, boat dealers, marine and fishing products, artists, non-profit organizations and food. Be sure to stop by The Log’s booth at the event – we are one of the highlighted vendors among many others.

Another splendid part of Day at the Docks: The event is entirely free and open to the public, so the cost to browse will not break the bank. Grab some lunch and revel in all that is a recreational fisherman’s dream.

Exhibitors will be on land and water – vessels will be nearby offering boat rides and more. For those interested exhibiting at the festival, call 619-234-8793 or email sdfish@sportfishing.org.

Free parking and shuttles to the event will also be available, running all day from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. from Shelter Island.
