Dredging finally underway at Oceanside Harbor

Dredging at Oceanside Harbor, after a significant delay, is officially underway. The project was originally scheduled to take place during the spring, but permitting delays caused the dredging to be delayed by six months, according to reports. Oceanside Harbor’s dredge is expected to cost $3.5 million, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The dredging project was subcontracted out to Manson Construction Co. Manson plans to complete the dredging by Oct. 29, according to news reports. Sand collected from the harbor entrance will be redistributed along Oceanside’s beaches.
