Huntington Harbour hosts Duffys & Dingies Poker Run

Event, to be held May 12, will benefit CSR Children's Foundation.

HUNTINGTON HARBOUR — Boaters who enjoy being on the water and playing cards are invited to participate in the Duffys and Dinghies Poker Run, which is set to take place at Huntington Harbour on May 12. Huntington Harbour Yacht Club hosts the event, which benefits CSR Children’s Foundation.

Dinghies, Duffys and small boats up to 23 feet in size are qualified to participate in the poker run, which includes five stops on the harbor, a silent auction and more than $3,000 in cash prizes.

Registration runs from $100 to $1,000. The lowest registration tier is “Single Hand,” which is $100 for one poker hand.

The Mini Boat Special is $250 for three poker hands, while the Half-Boat Special is $500. Those who purchase the Full-Boat Special ($1,000) receive 12 poker hands.

All entrants receive hats and a seat at the awards luncheon; those purchasing Mini Boat, Half-Boat and Full-Boat specials receive one burgee per entry.

Entries are due May 8; those registering afterwards will have to pay a $50 late fee. The late fee would go directly to charity.

Special charity contributions are also available for $300, $500 or $1,000.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

Contact Diane Quijada at 909-917-0266 for more information. Entry forms are available at csrchildrensfoundation.org.

CSR Children’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity; the organization organizes the annual Kid’s Day at Long Beach’s Marine Stadium, where mentally and physically challenged children are provided with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to participate in waterspout activities.

Huntington Harbour YC is located at 3821 Warner Avenue in Huntington Beach.
