Island Marine Fuel names new assistant manager

NEWPORT BEACH — Island Marine Fuels, Newport Harbor’s certified Valvtec marine fuel dock, has announced the promotion of Charlie Daly to the position of assistant manager.

Daly, a Boise, Idaho native, spent most of his summers on lake boats fishing, swimming and playing on the many lakes and rivers that dot the state of Idaho. He moved to Newport Beach in 2013 and came to work at Island Marine Fuel later that year where he quickly became familiar with ocean vessels and marine fueling operations.

“I instantaneously fell in love with the Pacific Ocean and Newport Harbor,” he said. “I really enjoy our customers, their variety of boats and their passion for the water. 

“[The] great thing about working on a fuel dock is that everybody is happy all of the time, unlike other retail,” he added.

Island Marine Fuel is located on Balboa Island in Newport Harbor and has been family operated since 1933.
