MARINA DEL REY – Boaters can help celebrate National Marina Day with fishing clinics, safety demonstrations and boat rides during the annual event.

Marina del Rey’s MarinaFest is the harbor’s biggest celebration of yachting, on-water experiences and the marine lifestyle. The event is free to the public and is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Burton W. Chace Park; 13650 Mindanao Way.

Attendees will find a display of in-water boats (sail and power), classic boats, human-powered recreational craft, booths, community vendors and food trucks – along with rides aboard the water taxi, which will make stops at Santa Monica Windjammers and Pacific Mariners yacht clubs. Yacht club tours will also be provided.

Historic yachts and marine-related vendors will be on site. Vendors include Action Watersports; Avalon Marina; Blue Water Sailing , C&C Marine, S&K Dive Service; Classic Yacht Association; Commodore Yacht Sales; Hagerty Marine Insurance; California Yacht Club, Del Rey Yacht Club; Glenn Paddle Boards; Mare Co Sails; Hornblower Cruises; Marina del Rey Sportfishing, and Pacific Sailing.

Blue Pacific Boating, Catalina Yacht Anchorage, Cruising Yachts Unlimited, Denison Yacht Sales, Naos Yacht Sales, and The Yacht Exchange will showcase their boats in the show. Bob Koepple Yacht Sales, Cardel Yachts and many more will also be at the family-fun event.

Free boat rides and the grand opening of the new Burton W. Chace Park dock facilities will also be a part of the day’s events. Guests can also participate in free on-water boating skills trainings. See the Los Angeles County Fire Department boat from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
