Pirates invade Ventura Harbor, July 18-19

VENTURA – Guests are encouraged to grab their doubloons and set sail to Ventura’s Harbor Village for the 10th annual Pirate Days Festival, July 18-19 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Ventura Harbor Pirate Days attracts “pirates” of all ages who come dressed for swashbuckling fun.

This year’s theme is “X Marks the Spot” and features famous pirate re-enactors such as Capt. Jack Sparrow and Capt. Hook, along with their crew. 

Festival goers will have an opportunity to meet pirates as they stroll through the Pirate Cove Marketplace where pirate vendors will be selling woodcrafts, pirate attire, jewelry, handcrafted glass and nautical-themed loot. 

Guests can dress up in their best pirate garb and participate in daily costume contest. A pet costume contest is scheduled for July 18. Wee ones will enjoy a Mermaid Treasure Hunt ($2) and free activities, including a pirate show, scheduled throughout the event. 

Admission, parking and shuttle buses are free. Free parking is available on Spinnaker Drive at Harbor Cove Beach at the end of Spinnaker Drive on in Ventura Harbor Village parking lot. Free rides are available on the Downtown-Harbor Trolley from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday from locations downtown.
