Ventura Port District names new chair, vice-chair

The Ventura Port District’s Board of Commissioners announced Everard Ashworth will serve the agency as its new chair, with Brian Brennan moving into the vice chair position.

Ashworth, a 25-year Ventura resident and boaters, is professionally associated with Ashworth Leininger Group and claims membership with Ventura Yacht Club and Ventura Sail and Power Squadron.

Brennan previously served on the Ventura City Council as a member and mayor before shifting to the port district. He is a founding member of Surfrider Foundation’s Ventura County chapter.

Ventura Port District’s commission meetings continue as planned on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The commission is currently in the process of fleshing out a Request for Proposals for a visitor-serving development at Ventura Harbor.
