Friends of Rollo: “We Take Kids Fishing,” an organization dedicated to taking as many youngsters as possible on sportfishing trips, will have its major fundraiser culminating at the Fred Hall Shows. The grand prizes will be given away at the Fred Hall Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Pete Gray and “Rock Cod Rick” Maxa, host of the nation’s number one fishing radio show — “Let’s Talk Hook-up” — will oversee the drawing of names during the last hour of the Fred Hall Show in Del Mar, March 25. A live broadcast on XX 1090 will accompany this event.
The array of prizes available to the public is too lengthy to mention, but the entire fishing industry has helped contribute to this great cause.
The grand prize is a new Davis boat, a New Ford F-150 truck or $25,000 cash. The winner gets to choose. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at Dana Landing, Seaforth Sportfishing, Fisherman’s Landing or at the Fred Hall Shows in the Friends of Rollo Booth.
Friends of Rollo was started by long-range sportfishing icon Frank LoPreste, to honor the tragic death of young skipper Rollo Heyn. Friends of Rollo: “We Take Kids Fishing” has taken more than 75,000 kids fishing since it started. This organization deserves the support of the entire fishing community.
Stop by the Friends of Rollo booth at the Fred Hall Shows, and buy some raffle tickets. All of the money goes to a great cause — and you just might win a great prize.
