Coronado to create an eelgrass mitigation area for Glorietta Bay Marina Dock C work

Coronado’s City Council approved a resolution during its Oct. 18 meeting to create an eelgrass mitigation area to deposit about 200 cubic yards of dredged materials from planned improvements of Glorietta Bay Marina’s Dock C and boat launch ramp.

The city is required to work with the State Lands Commission to create and monitor an eelgrass mitigation area during the upcoming renovation of the dock and boat launch ramp. A similar eelgrass mitigation area was used during the renovation of docks A and B.

Dock C is the last of Glorietta Bay Marina’s docks to be upgraded. City staff stated the docks are dilapidated and do not meet several code regulations.

Coronado and the State Lands Commission will enter into a lease agreement to create and monitor an eelgrass mitigation area during renovation work of Glorietta Bay Marina Dock C and the adjacent boat launch ramp.
