SANTA BARBARABudding shipbuilders and engineers are invited to participate in the annual Kardboard Kayak build it and race it competition scheduled for July 9.

Then teams of up to four have one hour to get to work building their vessels on West Beach using materials provided to them – two sheets of cardboard, one roll of tape, a marker, a utility knife and one yardstick. (2) kardboard kayak
