NEWPORT BEACH — Longtime Southern California yacht broker Rudy Dettwyler has joined the Chuck Hovey Yachts sales team.

Dettwyler has more than 42 years of experience in the marine industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to Chuck Hovey Yachts’ Fleming Yachts sales team, Chuck Hovey said. The seasoned broker, who has been with Crow’s Nest Yachts for the past 27 years, will continue to serve Southern California clients at Chuck Hovey Yachts’ location in Newport Beach.

“Our marine industry future will see unbelievable new propulsion technology coming to our products that will be exciting to sell — and will bring new clients into our market,” Dettwyler said.

Chuck Hovey Yachts is the West Coast dealer for Fleming Pilothouse Motoryachts (55, 65 and 75 feet), handling both new and brokerage boat sales.

Dettwyler has a long list of achievements, including earning a degree in engineering from Purdue University, starting his own business, serving in the Navy during World War II, serving as an active member and past board member of the Southern California Yachting Association and being named one of the top 10 salesmen in the world by Bertram Yachts in 1989. He has represented many top yacht lines, including Bertram, Hatteras, Tiara and Viking, and has ample experience in pilothouse motoryachts.
