If Queen Mary wasn’t haunted before, it definitely is now.
During the last few days of “Shipwreck: 15 Nights of Terror Aboard Queen Mary” — Oct. 30-Nov. 1 — the historic cruise ship attraction will offer more bloodthirsty vampires, bobbing goblins, deranged devils, gruesome ghouls and spooky spirits than an entire Transylvanian village — let alone your average haunted house.
The spectacularly eerie sets were created by some of the same people who worked on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” The goal of Shipwreck’s new operator, Matthew Gavin, was to turn the venerable ship into one of the biggest and best Halloween haunt attractions in the world.
With spooky sets, crowds of creepy costumed actors, celebrity hosts, psychics, tarot card readers, a Halloween store and a food court, there’s something here for everyone. And there are many different theme haunts within the ship and its surrounding area.
The English-style buildings on shore have been transformed into a Vampire Village. In addition, Queen Mary’s Halloween Shipwreck “passengers” can explore the Graveyard, run from straitjacketed maniacs in the Isolation Ward, get lost in the Pirate Maze and get chills from the inhabitants of the Paranoia House of Horrors.
For those 21 and older, there’s Club Dead in the Dome: a 20,000-square-foot “Blair Witch Project Woods” area for dancing, screaming and partying.
Hours are 7 p.m.-midnight. Tickets are $29 to $99; and an RIP Overnight Package with hotel accommodations aboard and event admission is $225. For information, visit www.shipwreckhalloween.com.
