America’s Cup Trophy comes to Dana Point Yacht Club

DANA POINT — Dana Point Yacht Club hosted the America’s Cup in July, to a standing room only crowd.

It was a rare opportunity for the public to see the America’s Cup Trophy in person something no other club in the world has had the privilege of experiencing, according to club officials.

“This event was as special as it comes,” said Dana Point YC Commodore Bob Perdue. “Those in attendance had the opportunity to not only see the cup in person, but to also learn about its over 150 year rich history and the current status of the America’s Cup challenge.”

America’s Cup oldest trophy in international sport was first contested in 1851.

A special presentation was given by Norbert Bajurin, Commodore of Golden Gate Yacht Club, the home club of the America’s Cup Defender, Oracle Team USA.
