San Diego Yacht Club hosts Kettenburg and Classic Yacht Regatta

Powerboats and sailboats will race at Coronado Roads, June 22-24.

SAN DIEGO — Coronado Roads will be home to the Kettenburg and Classic Yacht Race during the first weekend of summer, with powerboats and sailboats competing for a variety of prizes. The San Diego Yacht Club regatta will be held in the Pacific Ocean (Coronado Roads) and the San Diego Bay, June 22-24.

At least three classes – PC Class, Racing Class A and Racing Class B – will be designated for fleet racing and scoring. Powerboats must pay an entry fee of $60; the fee includes slip assignment, use of San Diego YC facilities for up to nine days (three days before race, three days during race and three days after race), reception and cocktails.

Sailboats, meanwhile, must pay $75 by June 15 or $100 after; the entry fee includes slip assignment and use of San Diego YC facilities for up to seven days (two days before race, three days during race, two days after race); the sailboat entry fee also includes reception and cocktails.

All payments must be made online – www.sdyc.org/kettenburg – and by credit card.

Skippers and owners of PC Class, PCC Class, all Kettenburg boats built before 1985 and wooden hull powerboats/full keel sailboats built before 1985 are eligible to participate in the regatta.

Prizes include Best of Show and KCY Charity Cup.
