SAN DIEGO – More than 300 physically and developmentally disabled San Diegans, together with their families, will be welcomed aboard boats for a cruise on San Diego bay during the 54th annual Wheelchair Regatta.
Hosted by Silver Gate YC, the event provides guests with an opportunity to get out on the water for a day-long sail.
Guests will be wheeled to docks by more than 150 volunteers, which include military personnel, where they will be hoisted onto boats participating in the annual regatta.
The Wheelchair Regatta includes a tour of the bay from 8 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch and entertainment from noon to 1 p.m. at Silver Gate YC. The club is located at 2901 Shelter Island Drive.
