R.D. James confirmed as new Army Corps head

The U.S. Senate officially confirmed Ricky Dale “R.D.” James as the new head of the Army Corps of Engineers., it was reported; James was confirmed by an 89-1 vote.
James, a former farmer cotton gin professional, previously served a multi-term tenure on the Mississippi River Commission. He also worked for the Kentucky Department of Water Resources engineering office.
Pres. Donald J. Trump nominated James for the Army Corps of Engineers top spot last year.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, was the only vote against James’ nomination.
