A relatively new addition to Avalon is Island Spa Catalina, which is located inside the historic El Encanto building at the far end of Crescent Avenue.
The spa features nine treatment rooms where patrons can enjoy a massage, facial, body treatment or spray tan.
One of the more unique experiences at Island Spa Catalina is the warm sand therapy massage atop a table of quartz sand. This treatment is ideal for muscle relaxation or relieving joint pain.
Also featured at the spa: An ocean view relaxation deck, chaise lounges overlooking the harbor, eucalyptus steam rooms, dry saunas, a pool, and a wellness studio for yoga, Zumba and group fitness.
The spa also offers treatments for couples. There is also a “Just For Him” menu offered to the span’s male customers.
Suite rental is available to couples on a romantic getaway or for groups seeking to hold a private party.
The gamut of services offered at the spa start at $25 for facial enhancements and runs up to $295 for the 110-minutes Warm Sand and Ocean Therapy package.
Enjoy a smoothie or meal at Encanto Café when not relaxing or enjoying a treatment. The eatery offers salads, sandwiches and adult beverages, as well.
