The owner had reportedly hired eight homeless individuals to assist him with physically pushing the vessel back out to sea. The idea was met with near disaster when a large wave slapped the hull, causing the 10,000-pound vessel to roll over and almost crush the unsuccessful salvagers, according to Harbor Patrol reports. Officers terminated the salvage operation and advised all subjects involved of the dangers involved with a vessel rocking back and forth in high surf.
