Jan. 19 • 4:03 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a vessel doing donuts near a kayaker near the Coast Highway bridge.
Jan. 19 • 2:08 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to an unattended 22-foot bayliner partially sunk in front of a restaurant.
Sunset Beach/ Huntington Harbour
Jan. 19 • 2:07 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a boat accident. A 54-foot vessel was unable to get off the sandbar.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY
Marina del Rey
Jan. 21 • 9 a.m. Deputies from the Marina del Rey Marine Patrol arrested a boater for an outstanding traffic warrant. He was transported and booked at the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s station.
Jan. 21 • 8 a.m. Deputies from the Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to a disabled vessel approximately 1.5 miles south of Marina del Rey. The disabled vessel was towed back to its slip in Marina del Rey.
Jan. 20 • 6 p.m. Deputies from the Marina del Rey Marine Patrol responded to the entrance channel of MDR, along the south jetty, regarding a disabled vessel. The vessel was in danger of being blown against the rocks. The Sheriff’s boat took the disabled boaters in tow and returned them to their slip in “B” basin.
Jan. 13 • 6 p.m. Deputies from Marina del Rey Marine Patrol, along with Baywatch del Rey, responded to Venice beach regarding a sail boat that ran aground. Prior to their arrival the 3 occupants of the vessel jumped into the water and were assisted by a life guard on the beach. The Baywatch boat towed the sailboat off the beach. Sheriff’s deputies then took the boat in tow and returned it to Marina del Rey harbor. A boating accident investigation is being conducted. No people were injured and there didn’t appear to be any significant damage to the sailboat.

Jan. 19 • 1:50 p.m Harbor Patrol towed a disabled power vessel near hobie beach to the fuel dock.
Jan. 18 • 1:35 p.m Harbor Patrol responded to a disabled skiff in the main basin and towed the vessel to Mandalay Bay.
Jan. 18 • 9:50 a.m. Harbor Patrol observed a motor vessel with engine failure and towed it to the main basin. The vessel was able to start its engine and was released under its own power.
Jan. 18 • 12:50 a.m Harbor Patrol responded to a motor vessel with a fouled prop drifting near the breakwall. The vessel owner was able to unfoul his prop, was released from the tow, and was escorted to the fuel dock.
Jan. 17 • 10:50 a.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a disabled skiff at the harbor entrance. The vessel was towed to the temporary launch ramp.
Jan. 12 • 5 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a 30 foot disabled vessel who drifted safely to an empty slip. The sailing vessel was towed back to its slip.
Jan. 12 • 12:55 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a 24 foot disabled power vessel at the harbor entrance and towed the vessel back to its slip.
Jan. 12 • 12:30 p.m. Harbor patrol responded to a disabled 25-foot power vessel near Channel Islands Sport Fishing docks. The vessel was towed to the fuel dock and then back to its slip.
Jan. 10 • 2:25 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to a disabled power vessel in the main basin. The vessel was taken in tow and released at the temporary launch ramp.
Jan. 6 • 11:05 a.m. Harbor Patrol observed a 40 foot sailing vessel lose power. The vessel was taken in tow and released at a local marina. Ventura Harbor.
Jan. 18 • 2:07 p.m. The owner of a sailboat requested assistance because the vessel was disabled inside the harbor. Harbor Patrol took the vessel into tow and released it at the its slip at Ventura West Marina.
Jan. 17 • 6:03 p.m. Harbor Patrol received a request for assistance on behalf of a vessel disabled in the Turning Basin. Patrol took the vessel into tow and released it at the Yacht Yard.
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY
Santa Barbara Harbor
Jan. 14 • 1:05 p.m. Harbor Patrol officers responded to the year-round anchorage on a report of a vessel sinking. Found Arunta Princess, about one foot from the top cap rail. Pumped out approximately 3,000 gallons and towed the vessel back to the Harbor Patrol Accommodations Doc.k
Jan. 10 • 5:55 a.m. An employee from the Fish Market came into the Harbor Patrol office and reported that during the high winds, a boat had fallen over in the Boat Yard. Observed Just Dandy II laying on its starboard side after falling from the support/jack stands at the boat yard. The mast had snapped over the top of another commercial vessel, Isla, next to it. Harbor Patrol contacted the Boat Yard owner who was aware of the problem and was on his way down to access the damage.
