Aug. 31• Harbor Police units responded to a call of an overturned vessel near Buoy 22A.  Two subjects were taken aboard the Harbor Police vessel and the overturned vessel was towed to the rental company in Coronado.
Aug. 29• Harbor Police units investigated a domestic violence incident aboard a vessel in the A-1 Anchorage.
Aug. 26• Harbor Police units cited a 52-year-old male for unsafe vessel operation off of Ballast Point.
Aug. 26•Harbor Police units investigated a vessel accident in the America’s Cup Harbor.
Aug. 17• Harbor Police units investigated a vessel accident near Buoy-18.
Aug. 17• Harbor Police units cited a 52-year-old male for illegally anchoring his vessel and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 17• Harbor Police units cited a 51-year old male for illegally mooring his vessel.
Aug. 16• Harbor Police units investigated a vessel accident in Glorietta Bay.
Aug. 12• Harbor Police units cited a 48-year-old male for illegally mooring his vessel.
Aug. 12• Harbor Police units requested a warrant for a 52-year-old female for dumping pollution into the bay off of Shelter Island.
Aug. 7• Harbor Police units investigated a report of a stolen Avon skiff in the A-5 anchorage.
Aug. 7• Harbor Police units arrested a 20-year-old male for an outstanding warrant in the A-3 anchorage.
Aug. 7• Harbor Police units investigated a fuel spill in the Shelter Island Yacht Basin.
Aug. 7• Harbor Police units investigated a vessel accident in America’s Cup Harbor.
Aug. 7 • Harbor Police units arrested a 22-year-male in the Mission Bay channel for battery on a Peace Officer.

Aug. 1• Harbor Police investigated a vessel accident off of 1800 N Harbor Dr.
July 29• Emergency medical response to bridge piling #23 for a 53-year-old male who had jumped from the Coronado bridge.  Victim succumbed to his injuries and was transferred to the County Coroner’s office.
July 29• Emergency medical response to bridge piling #19 for a 31-year-old female who had jumped from the Coronado bridge.  Victim succumbed to her injuries and was transferred to the County Coroner’s office.
July 28• Harbor Police recovered a dinghy found adrift in the A-3 anchorage.
July 28• Harbor Police cited a 42-year-old male for operating an unlicensed vessel charter operation.
July 22• Harbor Police units cited a 45-year old male for excessive speed in the Shelter Island Yacht basin.
July 22• Harbor Police arrested a 39-year old male near buoy 19 for operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
July 22• Harbor Police arrested a 25-year old male near buoy 19 for operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
July 21• Harbor Police units recovered a stolen vessel from America’s Cup Harbor.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY

Avalon
July 27 • Avalon experienced a thunder and lightning storm that produced a sudden downpour. Although fairly unexpected, the rain was welcomed by all. The lightening started three fires that were extinguished by the rain. One visitor received minor injuries when lightning struck near where he was standing.

VENTURA COUNTY

Ventura Harbor
Aug. 30• 5:35 p.m. Harbor Patrol received a report of a vessel disabled in the Turning Basin. Patrol responded, took the vessel into tow, and released it at its slip at Harbor Village
Aug. 30• 1:15 p.m. Several people reported a vessel in distress in the South Harbor. Patrol responded. It appeared that vessel’s autopilot was on. Patrol stood by to ensure the vessel was back under operator control
Aug. 29• 10:07 a.m. State Lifeguards report a small boat has capsized in the surf at the South Jetty. Upon arrival, Lifeguards signaled that they had swum the one person on board to the beach. After Patrol attempted to swim the vessel out of the surf, the South Jetty Rip transported the vessel out to sea. Patrol took the vessel into tow, righted it, dewatered it, and released it at the Launch Ramp.
Aug. 28• 7:35 p.m. FCC dispatched Patrol and other units to a water rescue at the Cornwall Jetty. Patrol responded in very heavy seas. Upon arrival, the swimmer was on the beach.
Aug. 28• 4:40 p.m. Lifegaurds report a capsized catamaran at the South Jetty and then reported it had been righted. Patrol responded to investigate. Upon arrival, the vessel was against the rocks and the people were on the South Jetty. There were no injuries, and the people were able to get underway without assistance.
Aug. 27• 7:44 p.m. Lifeguards requested assistance with a surfer in distress near the pier. Patrol responded, picked up the surfer, and dropped him off on the beach away from the pier.
Aug. 27• 2 p.m. State Lifeguards report an active water rescue by the Pier. Patrol responded, picked up the Lifeguard and victim. They dropped the Lifeguard off to assist in another rescue and then transported the victim to the Patrol Office
Aug. 17• 2 p.m. Harbor Patrol received a report of an overturned sailboat at the Launch Ramp. Above arrival, the vessel did not need assistance.
Aug. 17• 11:10 a.m. Harbor Patrol received a request for assistance from a vessel disabled in the Harbor. Patrol took the vessel into tow and released its slip at VWM.
Aug. 13• 1 p.m. A kayaker reported a vessel low in the water in the Keys. Patrol responded, dewatered the vessel, and also called Ventura City Code Enforcement because this vessel has been pumped out a few times and needs to be removed from the water
Aug. 12• 1:05 p.m. . Harbor Patrol received a request for assistance from a vessel disabled in the Harbor Entrance. Patrol took the vessel into tow and released it at the Launch Ramp.
Aug.9 • 3:47 p.m. Harbor Patrol responded to an overturned rental PWC that is capsized with three people aboard in the Harbor Entrance. Patrol took the people aboard and towed the craft to Harbor Village.
Aug. 6• 2:45 p.m.  Harbor Patrol received a request to tow a disabled Electacraft. Patrol took the vessel into tow at the Patrol dock and released it as its slip in the Keys.
Aug. 6• 5:03 p.m. Harbor Patrol observed a vessel low in the water at a dock in the Keys. Patrol pumped out the vessel and also contacted Code Enforcement since this appears to be a chronic problem
Aug. 3• 3 p.m. Harbor Patrol received a report of a vessel taking on water at its dock in the Keys. Patrol responded and dewatered the vessel.
Aug. 1• 4:15 p.m. Harbor Patrol received a request for a tow from a sailboat that has lost its power. Patrol took the vessel into tow and released it at its slip at VIM.
July 27• 4:47 p.m.  Harbor Patrol observed a small sailboat in distress at the tip of the North Jetty. Patrol responded and were able to right the vessel. It was released under its own power
July 26• 10:28 a.m. A boater contacted Harbor Patrol regarding a vessel that hit his moored boat at VWM on Thursday. Patrol responded, gathered information, and wrote a report. The damage was very minor.
July 25• 4:20 p.m. Patrol received a request for moorage from a sailboat that was broken down and needed moorage for the night. Patrol took the vessel into tow in the Pierpont Basin and tied it to the long dock
July 23• 7:07 p.m. Patrol received a report of an electric craft disabled with a dead battery. Patrol responded, took the vessel into tow and released it at it slip in the Keys.
July 22• 3:55 p.m. FCC dispatched Patrol and others to a water rescue off Surfer’s Knoll. Patrol responded by boat. A Harbor Patrol Officer entered the water on a rescue board and found the subject face down in the water. Although pulse and respirations were restored on scene, the patient later expired in the hospital.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY

Santa Barbara Harbor
Aug. 3• 6:40 p.m. Harbor Patrol officers responded to a local boat rental company regarding patron refusing to pay for a vessel they had rented. The patron was ultimately issued a citation for defrauding an innkeeper.
