1978: Basking shark found in Dana Point

The Dana Point Harbor Shipyard used its 30-ton crane to hoist a dead basking shark from the harbor according to an article in the August 1978 paper.

The deceased 24-foot shark was rowed into port and later taken to the Orange County dump.
