Day at the Docks returns to San Diego, April 17

SAN DIEGO — Anglers of all ages and experience levels are invited to partake in the Port of San Diego’s 37th annual Day at the Docks on April 17.

The event kicks off San Diego’s 2016 fishing season and features fishing vendors, live music and a chance to board the San Diego sportfishing fleet.

Fishing seminars are scheduled throughout the day with talks on how tos and insider tips from San Diego fleet skippers and industry experts. The Catch, Prep and Cook Center will also provide anglers with ideas and techniques on how to prepare fresh fish.

Okuma Fishing Tackle and Everingham Bros Bait Company will host the Kid’s Fishing Adventure from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for kids 4-12 years old. Youngsters will have a chance to wet a line and make a catch as they are coached by members of the San Diego Rod & Reel Clubs and San Diego Anglers. 

Knot tying competitions, boat rides around the bay, boat tours and food vendors all make up the day-long event. 

Day at the Docks will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., April 17 at the Sportfishing Landings in Point Loma. Visit sportfishing.org for more information.
