Father’s Day Beer and Brats on the Bay -- Aboard Californian

SAN DIEGO — The Maritime Museum of San Diego will host a Father’s Day celebration aboard the 145-foot schooner Californian, June 17. The day will start with photos and food, and end with a three-hour sailing adventure on San Diego Bay.

After a souvenir group photo is taken of everyone in your party, each adult will receive a bratwurst sandwich and a cold beer. Hot dogs and soft drinks will available for youths.

Californian will leave the dock at noon, returning at 3 p.m. The museum’s experienced crew will work the lines and handle the sails, giving Father’s Day celebrants a rare opportunity to enjoy a traditional nautical adventure cruise on San Diego Bay.

Tickets are $60 per adult; $30 for children 17 and younger. Tickets also include admission to the museum — which will be open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

Tickets are available at sdmaritime.org. Call (619) 234-9153, ext. 101 for details.

The Maritime Museum of San Diego enjoys a worldwide reputation for restoring, maintaining and operating historic vessels — and its collection of historic vessels includes the world’s oldest active ship: Star of India. The museum is located on the North Embarcadero in downtown San Diego, at 1492 N. Harbor Drive.
