Fred Hall Show Coming to Long Beach, March 6-10

LONG BEACH — For 67 years, the annual Fred Hall Fishing Tackle and Boat Show has been a season-starting tradition for active Southern California outdoor enthusiasts.

The Fred Hall Show spotlights the latest must-have sportfishing gear, tackle, fishing boats, marine accessories, camping gear and diving, shooting and hunting products, along with hundreds of resorts, landings, lodges and outfitters that are ready to book outdoor adventures. This year’s show is set for March 6-10 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, at 300 E. Ocean Blvd.

Numerous free seminars will be available, geared to anglers and outdoors enthusiasts of all experience levels. And this year, anglers can take advantage of a brand-new offering: Fishing 101, a concentrated three-hour course that provides expert tips on how to catch fish.

Expert instructors will walk Fishing 101 participants through the steps needed to get out on the water and start catching local fish — in both fresh and saltwater. The course fee is $100 for adults and $50 for children — and the fee includes admission to the show afterward, and a selection of fishing tackle and discount coupons for fishing trips, tackle and more. The class time is 9 a.m.-noon March 9, and online pre-registration is required.

Show hours are 1-9 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Regular admission is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors age 62 and up, free for children 15 and younger with a paid adult, and free for active military personnel with a valid I.D.

The show is presented by the American Sportfishing Association and Fred Hall & Associates. Tickets can be purchased in advance at fredhall.com or in person at the door. For details, visit fredhall.com.
