SAN DIEGO — JK3 Nautical Enterprises announced it has entered into contracts with Hanse Yachts to become the exclusive dealer for Hanse Sailing Yachts in the Southwestern U.S. and on the West Coast of Mexico. JK3 currently has offices in San Diego, Newport Beach, San Francisco and Houston.
“Hanse Yachts is proud to join forces with JK3 Nautical Enterprises,” said Doug Brophy, managing director of Hanse USA. “At Hanse Yachts, we offer yachts with affordable modern construction, lots of living space and outstanding sailing performance. These yachts are a perfect fit for the West Coast, which is well represented by Jeff Brown and his team.”
Each Hanse yacht is designed by Judel/Vrolijk (J/V), designers of the Alinghi America’s Cup yachts. Top construction methods are used in producing each Hanse yacht — including bulkheads glassed in laminate to the deck and the hull for integrity and long-range safety; and vinylester and/or epoxy resins used in the hull layup for maximum strength, weight-saving and imperviousness to water penetration or osmosis. Every Hanse keel is fastened to the hull with stainless steel bolts and 20-mm-thick backing plates.
Each Hanse yacht features a tall performance-tapered mast, a large mainsail and a non-overlapping self-tacking headsail, for fast, easy sailing with a limited crew. Hanse steering systems are built in Denmark by Jefa.
Belowdecks, Hanse yachts offer open, contemporary interiors with maximum attention to detail. Details include fine wood veneers used throughout, standard microfiber upholstery, top and bottom drawer-style refrigerators, separate showers and a generous number of opening hatches.
JK3 has a new model Hanse 385 on order for delivery and display at the San Diego Sunroad Boat Show, Jan. 26-29.
