Parade of 1,000 Lights to celebrate its 34th year

LONG BEACH — The Parade of 1,000 Lights, the 34th annual Long Beach Christmas Boat Parade, will take place Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Downtown Long Beach Marinas – Shoreline Marina and Rainbow Harbor locations in downtown Long Beach.

The public is invited to participate as a spectator or by entering a boat in the parade. The parade is presented by Shoreline Yacht Club but is open to all participants.

A boat decorating and safety seminar will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 3 at Shoreline YC (386 Shoreline Drive South, Long Beach). There will be a mandatory skipper’s meeting at the club at 11 a.m., Dec. 10 for all participants.

Applications may be obtained by calling Shoreline YC at 562-435-4093, by email at office@syclb.org and at Shoreline and Rainbow Harbor Marina offices. Application forms will also be on each Shoreline Marina dock gate by Nov. 19.

Entry fee for a boat in the parade is $15. The deadline for registering is 11 a.m. Dec. 10, but early registrations are encouraged
