San Diego Bay Parade of Lights Set for Dec. 11, 18
Byline: Nu Yang
SAN DIEGO — It’s not too early to think about decorating your boat for the holidays and entering it in one of the area’s largest boat parades. The 40th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights will take place from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 11 and 18.
Fireworks will kick off the event, with the boat parade immediately following. The parade begins at Shelter Island and will end at the ferry landing on Coronado.
There is a $40 entry fee, which covers participation for one or both nights. Entry fees and registration forms (available at sdparadeoflights.org) must be received before Nov. 30.
Decorated boats will judged and scored from 1 to 5, based on their use of holiday lighting, music, special effects, originality and the creative use of decorations depicting the parade theme.
