San Diego Maritime Museum introduces new interactive pirate adventure, Boarded!
SAN DIEGO — No historical figures continues to keep audiences in awe quite like pirates. From fictional portrayals like Captain Jack Sparrow to legends of famed buccaneers like Black Beard, Anne Bonny and William Kidd, children and adults alike have long been curious about what pirate life was like. The new pirate-centric production Boarded! by San Diego Maritime Museum, however, offers an entertaining and educational opportunity to interact with pirates for a day.
According to San Diego Maritime Museum’s official website, participants begin the show by being sworn in as part of the crew aboard Californian, which serves as the hosting ship. Just a few of the skills crewmembers will learn are navigation training, sword fighting, bailing water, swabbing the deck and more. Pirate life seems straightforward until the hunt for a lost crew and cursed treasure surfaces. And, are there some mutinous pirates aboard? Audience members will find out when they embark on this exciting 90-minute journey.
Shows will take place on Nov. 24 and Dec. 29 and check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Ticket prices are $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 years and under. Admission to the Maritime Museum is not included in the purchase of tickets.
San Diego Maritime Museum is located at 1492 North Harbor Drive.
