TheLogNewsCast Ep. 1 CARB Regulations
In early 2021, the California Air Resource Board, also known as CARB, announced the proposal for its new engine emission regulations. This mandate requires new diesel engines and technology for existing commercial passenger sportfishing boats. The proposal ignited concerns all throughout the Commercial Passenger Vessel community in California, and boat owners are now doing everything they can to appropriately address the proposal. I spoke with Jaime Diamond, owner of Stardust Sportfishing in Santa Barbara. Jaime and her husband have owned Stardust since 1996, and their second vessel, the Coral Sea since 2015. Jamie provided insight on the impacts that this proposal would have on her, her family, her vessels, and her business if approved.
