Megayacht concept brings passengers closer to nature

NORWAY — Megayacht owners can now enjoy nature close up – right onboard their luxury yacht only a step outside their cabin’s door.

Hareide Design has announced the new megayacht concept that ties the natural elements with luxury while aboard an extravagant yacht.

Rather than plan the superyacht on typical luxury vessel designs, which provide guests with traditional luxury elements in the cabins, this new hybrid megayacht concept creates “a platform for actively experiencing the beauty of nature and the changing elements.”

The yacht features an elevated dining and viewing area, a tranquil garden surrounding a 20-meter pool and a seamless transition to the water at the stern, according to Hareide Design.

According to Gizmag, at the stern the deck will be designed to dip into the water, allowing passengers to dip their toes into the ocean.

A spacious multifunctional grand hall will give guests a clear view to the picturesque scenes around them and provide a unique contact with nature, according to the company.

Renderings depict glass windows to allow passengers to take in sweeping views of the ocean, shorelines and natural elements. The small patch of grass on the deck gives guests the sense of walking in a grassy backyard where they can lounge on beach chairs.

The ship is based on a classic 354-foot mono hull design. The concept also includes a helipad, 300-square-meters of solar panels charging banks of lithium-ion batteries to provide the yacht with sustainable energy and plenty of power for slow cruising along shorelines. Longer distance and higher speed cruises will require implementing the yacht’s diesel-electrical propulsion.
