On June 2, lace up your running shoes and join the excitement of the Italy 5K Run L.A. Hosted by the Little Italy of Los Angeles Association, this event celebrates Italian Republic Day with its third annual 5K race. Italy Run LA is a family-friendly event, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities, including runners, walkers and even strollers. The race kicks off in downtown San Pedro at 8 a.m.. Experience unforgettable moonlit evenings at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium with “Hot Summer Nights” on June 8 and 23. Presented by KCRW and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, this program kicks off at 8 p.m. with a short film showcasing the grunion fish. Guests also can indulge in music from various DJs, savor delicious treats from local food trucks and stroll among the aquarium’s four life-sized inflatable whales. The 74th John Olguin Fireworks Spectacular, happening on July 4, continues the legacy started by the late Olguin, offering the public a safe and memorable way to celebrate Independence Day. Co-sponsored by the Cabrillo Beach Boosters and the Port of Los Angeles, this cherished tradition features a fireworks display illuminating the sky and sea at Cabrillo Beach at 9 p.m. Bring beach chairs and blankets for a free evening of patriotic festivities.

Immerse yourself in the timeless and enchanting experience of summer theater with complimentary outdoor renditions of Cardenio and Henry IV at two venues along the L.A. The annual Conquer the Bridge foot race and fun walk, now in its 15th year, features a scenic journey across the iconic Vincent Thomas Bridge at the Port of Los Angeles.
