Letter to the Editor — Watch Out for Slip Transfer Policy Abuse
Byline: Jack Strong
In reference to your editorial in the Oct. 12-25 issue of The Log Newspaper, “Slip Transfers Draw Scrutiny,” I am an example of what can happen when boaters are allowed to transfer their moorings by selling a rundown boat to buyers who only want the mooring.
I put my name on the Newport Harbor Municipal Mooring Waiting List in 1971 — 41 years ago. At that time, I was told that the wait would be approximately eight years.
I’m still waiting.
Don’t let this happen in Oceanside!
