Re: Updates to sea level rise policy adopted by Coastal Commission (issue Dec. 14-27)

The “less-than-specks” agenda

  1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
  2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.
  3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
  4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
  5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Here is the truth it is cold in the winter and warm in the summer.

Where can I apply for my grant to get money?

Re: Oxnard Marinas granted deadline extension for slip (issue Dec. 14-27)

Who will look into this?
The County allegedly has given a Power of Attorney to Palmer, Tellefsen (LA Developer) for Public Land. Yet no one can produce a copy of it. Somebody needs to look into the dirty dealings of Ventura County Krieger/Zaragoza, now Sandoval.
Trying to allow their Developer Buddies to SUE the tax payers for their Public Land.

Someone please look into this.

Re: California Fishing License: Two More States Adopt 12-Month System (issue Nov. 30-Dec. 13)

Can the state magic a right into a privilege?
California is not willing to change their policy because the right to fish in California is written into the State’s constitution. No license is required, yet they legislated the privilege in anyways charging a fee. See the Article 1 Section25 of the Cal Constitution. Furthermore, in accordance with Murdock v. Pennsylvania 319 U.S. 105 (1943), the State cannot turn a “right” into a privilege and charge a fee. With the advent of social media and this information going viral, the State is unwilling to shake that tree for fear of disturbing the hornets’ nest rather than harvesting more fruit (fees). IMHO

Re: Finding generosity and hope amid tragedy (issue Nov. 30-Dec. 13)

The world could use more stories like these …
This was indeed a heartwarming, charitable response to a local crisis. It showed, yet again, how giving and quick to respond to those in need that most boaters are. In fact, I think there is something in the DNA of many boaters, that compels them to not hesitate to help their fellow man, on or off the water. Mark and his YAG non-profit, are among the best of the best, and a true local California treasure – with a worldwide outreach.

Readers should check out his https://www.yachtaidglobal.org website to learn more about this amazing charity, that succeeds over and over again in getting critical relief supplies into some of the hardest hit, and most difficult to reach, areas in the world. Kudos to Mark, Howard, Bill and all who sprung into action in Malibu. I never tire reading stories like this one!

Re: Capital improvement projects begin to enhance Oceanside Harbor’s amenities (Dec. 14-27)

Oceanside did not drop the ball
Thanks for the nice article. As a future note, the harbor and the city do not apply for the dredging permit. That permit is solely the responsibility of the Army Corps. The Army Corps did make all of the appropriate permit applications this past spring, however, the Regional Water Quality Board requested additional information after the permit was received. That created an additional delay. Since Oceanside does not allow dredging past Memorial Day, Manson Construction had to skip us and head to another contract they had. I just want to make sure the public understands the City of Oceanside did nothing wrong. Thanks.

    Dock Lines with Capt. Nicole
“What services can boaters expect during the government shutdown?”

I have enjoyed reading Ms. Nicole’s column several times, until I got down to the last few paragraphs of this latest article. Ms. Nicole had to inject politics into her article, and it angered me that even The Log was allowing Fake News into its paper. Ms. Nicole thinks the situation along the southern border of the United States is “nothing approaching a national emergency at the border”, and is “just a manufactured crisis for political gain.” A person must be completely out of touch with the almost daily news of drugs, human trafficking, coyote lead groups of individuals and families, unaccompanied children, and criminals crossing into the U.S., and the hundreds of illegal aliens entering from countries all over the world that our U.S. Border Patrol is tasked with trying to stop. This does not even include the caravans of people coming up from some south American countries that we have been witnessing recently, which in reality is not a new event for Border Patrol. The U.S. is backlogged in the number of illegal aliens and immigrants applying for asylum it can process, and most of these people are released into the U.S. on a promise to return for their court date, which they rarely do. A manufactured crisis? Really? I was born and raised in San Diego, and have lived here with few exceptions for over 70 years. I have seen our illegal immigration grow by leaps and bounds over all those years, and in my opinion, in which I am not alone, it has definitely reached a national emergency crisis. So, for the sake of The Log, and for not turning articles in it into Fake News, how about we keep our political opinions to ourselves.
