BCYC wraps up Leukemia Cup Regatta races

CORONA DEL MAR — A total of 16 racers and 50 junior sailors came out to compete in Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club’s Leukemia Cup Regattas June 4-5.

On June 4, Roy Jones from Balboa Yacht Club on his boat, Tango, won first place in PHRF A. John Szalay from Bahia Corinthian YC on Pussycat took first place in PHRF B, and Stuart Leigh also from Bahia Corinthian YC on RyLaCade, won first in PHRF C.

Fifty junior sailors competed in the Jr. Leukemia Cup Regatta on June 5 where Joey Hertzberg and Morgan Burton, sailing CFJ’s won the coveted Low Point Perpetual.

The Harbor 20 fleet also competed on June 5 where Newport Harbor Yacht Club swept the competition with Bill Menninger, taking first place in the A fleet, Philip Thompson on Shana’s Secret won first place in Fleet B, and Pat Scruggs on Summerwind took first in the C Fleet.
