Drumstick Regatta

MARINA DEL REY — Nineteen sailors got some racing in before the busy holiday season during Del Rey Yacht Club’s annual Drumstick Regatta, Nov. 21.

There was some concern the wind would not make an appearance. Those worries were squashed once racers left the harbor and were met with beautiful racing conditions. The winds picked up and gave racers a fantastic opportunity to set personal records.

Race participants welcomed the challenge of having to navigate 40-degree wind shifts and sailing both upwind and downwind to the weather and leeward marks. 

At the end of the race 15 of the 19 participating boats finished with Line Honors going to:

Wild Turkey Classic Plastic Regatta

VENTURA – The 2015 Wild Turkey Classic Plastic Regatta was a fun day of camaraderie and, of course, sailing as several participates raced on the course in the Santa Barbara Channel

Non Spinnaker
1st: Wild Flyer – John Roland
2nd: The Source – Joe Joines
3rd:  Velero – Brent Swanson
