Jackson County selects harbormaster

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) — Jackson County has hired former Ocean Springs Alderman Danny Jalanivich as harbormaster for the county’s Ocean Springs Harbor.
The Sun Herald reports Jalanivich has been on the Harbor Commission for about five years. County Administrator Brian Fulton says he was the candidate with the best knowledge of the harbor.
Jalanivich is a contractor and built the Harbor Landing boat shed at the harbor.
The county human resources department says five candidates were interviewed.
