NY to upgrade boat launch on Adirondack lake

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York conservation officials say they plan to make $475,000 in upgrades to the boat launch on Upper Saranac Lake in the central Adirondacks.

One of two public boat launches providing access to the lake, officials say the upgrades will be completed before Memorial Day weekend next year.

They include constructing a new two-lane ramp, installing new floating docks, paving the entrance and parking area, upgrading the bathroom and adding a rinse station to flush out bilges.

The funding is part of $6 million in the current state budget intended to support land and water access to more than 380,000 acres of existing state-owned and conservation-easement lands.
