Underwater Camera Offers Surveillance Views of Sockeye

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Most of us have heard about the bear cams streaming live from Katmai National Park. But if bears aren’t your thing, you might want point your browser to the salmon cam.

The U.S. Forest Service is live-streaming video from an underwater camera in Steep Creek, located at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center in Juneau. The camera catches views of sockeye salmon and other fish in the creek, such as trout and Dolly Varden — and it’s reaching the prime time of the season for salmon.
