OCEANSIDE — On Sept. 26-27, the city of Oceanside will celebrate the harbor and everything maritime during the annual Oceanside Harbor Days event. Arts and crafts, a build your own boat contest and much more is scheduled for the fun-filled weekend.
Presented by Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, Oceanside Harbor District and Genentech, the festival will feature arts and crafts exhibits, a sandcastle competition, live entertainment, food booths, military, public safety displays and more. The annual Tiki Swim will be held Sept. 27 at the pier.
Aspiring boat builders can test their skills during the Nail ‘n’ Sail Competition on Sept. 27. No more than 24 participants will build their vessels using the materials provided and then race the boats in the harbor. Two team members from each team will paddle from one point to another point in the harbor in a quest to be the first to reach the dock. Costumes and cheerleaders are encouraged.
