Cabrillo Marine Aquarium hosts annual gala

SAN PEDRO — Cabrillo Marine Aquarium reminds the public to save the date for the organization’s 2016 gala on April 30.
This year’s “Grand Grunion Gala: An Abalone Affair” will raise funding for the highly endangered white abalone. The aquarium is one of only two places in the world with a public display of white abalone, according to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.
Guests are encouraged to wear white in honor of the white abalone and enjoy a lively cocktail party, silent auction and behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium. A dinner, awards program, live auction and dancing is also planned for the special night.
The event will be held in an elegant tent overlooking the beach.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is located at 3720 Stephen M. White Drive in San Pedro. The gala is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tickets are $175 per person before April 1 and $225 after that deadline. Call 310-548-7593 or visit grandgruniongala.org for more information.
