East Harbor Island redevelopment discussion postponed

SAN DIEGO—The Port of San Diego’s Board of Port Commissioners planned to receive a presentation at its Sept. 16 meeting about TopGolf International’s redevelopment plans at East Harbor Island. Port district staff, however, pulled the item from the agenda, postponing the presentation to a future meeting. The port district sought to enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement with TopGolf through Dec. 31, 2020.

Plans are in place to redevelop a portion of East Harbor Island with a new hotel and other visitor-serving amenities. TopGolf proposed to build a driving range as part of the redevelopment.

It’s not yet known when the presentation on TopGolf’s plans for East Harbor Island would be back on the commission’s agenda (if at all). The Log will report on the presentation if it is indeed back on the agenda.
