War Heroes on Water Reception in Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH—LoanDepot Founder and CEO Anthony Hsieh hosted the second-ever War Heroes on Water (WHOW) reception kickoff at his house in Newport Beach on Aug. 15. The reception raised money for a sportfishing tournament for Hsieh and decorated military veterans. Hsieh takes the veterans on a two-day sportfishing trip in Cabo San Lucas.

The sportfishing tournament kickoff celebration was attended by 400 people and featured a silent auction. Funds raised by the auction benefit the WHOW’s tournament and veterans. Luxury vacation collections, custom artwork and sets for anglers and golfers were auctioned off during the Aug. 15 reception; more than $75,000 was raised that evening, bringing the total amount of donations for the tournament to more than $500,000 – an amount five times greater than what was collected at the inaugural War Heroes on Water event, held last year.
